Beautify Me: TRESemme Curl Activator Spray

This week's (yea I know, I haven't exactly done this series every week- but I was on vacation so cut me some slack!) featured product is for my poker-straight, "unable to hold curl if it's life depended on it" hair. This is a small exaggeration, because in all honesty my hair has gotten better in the last 2-3 years. As a child, it seriously wouldn't hold curls. Now, it just fights curl tooth and nail. ;)
Anywho, I heart Tresemme products in general, and this curl activator spray works WONDERS. Seriously, I spray it in my hair, blow it dry for 30 seconds (the bottle says to do this to avoid tackiness), curl it up- and it lasts for AGES!! It's a miracle, I swear. :) I would show you how awesomely curly my hair looks right now, but my camera batteries are dead, and we don't have any more. But here's evidence (albeit darkly lit) from the night we went to see Mamma Mia.

P.S. This week's Beautify Me was inspired by Maegan at ...love Maegan. She has all of these cool Hair Tutorial videos on her blog showing how to do all sorts of hairstyles, along with all sorts of other awesome fashion/beauty-related things. She is my new blog crush, so go check her out!!

Home Again, Home Again

Jiggedy Jig. :) That's some sort of children's rhyme or song or something. Anywho- we're back from NYC!! It was SO much fun, and it totally affirmed that I could be a city girl in a heartbeat. It also affirmed that Eric is not a city boy, but he had fun nonetheless. I guess we're just destined for the suburbs!! Here are a few photos from our city gallivanting...

Metropolitan Museum of Art (I could have stayed here for DAYS- there was so much to see!! I wish we had more time, I loved this museum)

Some beach in a state park in Conn. that I made Eric stop at- I was dying to go to a beach!! (please excuse my horrendous breakout for this vacation)

We went to see Mamma Mia on Wednesday- very fun!

Central Park- also wanted to stay here for days. :)

And of course, the Empire State Building. :) I'll get around to putting all of our photos online and post the link- when I'm not drowning in a sea of laundry and luggage to unpack. Hope you all had a great week!!

New York City suitcase

What do you think? Too much color? (This is an approximation of my wardrobe, it's not exact. But I do have that exact purple/brown skirt!)

Beautify Me: NARS The Multiple

So, I received this product as a gift from my lovely sister as part of my thank you present for being the best matron-of-honor ever. I'd been wanting to try it ever since I read about it in Real Simple in one of their "best of" articles.
It's a lightweight, creamy stick that can be used as blush, eyeshadow, or lipstick- hence the name "The Multiple." I have the shade "Orgasm" (hope nobody's offended!) which is a peachy pink shimmer. I mostly use it as blush, and I LOVE it. It goes on smoothly, is easy to blend, and looks really natural. I usually hate blush, and went through a phase where I only used bronzer on my cheeks b/c I felt like blush made me look like a clown. But The Multiple has changed my opinion and I use it everyday. I have used it as lipstick a few times although it's a little light for my taste, and I'm not fond of creamy eyeshadows so I've never used it for that. So really, it's not a "multiple" for me- but I love it as a blush nonetheless. :)
It's pricey at $37 from Sephora, but it really is an excellent product. 3 out of 4 stars from me- deductions only for the price. Let me know if you've ever used it- or what do you like to use for blush?

New Series: Beautify Me

I need something new to blog about. I'm bored with food in general right now, and I have a few fashion posts coming up, but I need some inspiration! So, something that always makes me happy is makeup. Isn't it true that if you're feeling down, just buying a new lipstick can cheer you right up? Okay, well maybe that and some Cookie Dough Ice Cream. :) Anywho, I'm going to start doing weekly reviews of beauty products that I know and love, and maybe even take some photos of myself so you can see them on me. And, that's all. If you've got any suggestions of products I should try- give me a shout!
